Leaders

You can join Girlguiding at any time, and don’t have to be a girl to join the fun. As an adult you can volunteer as a leader or in many different types of roles from treasurer to weekly shopper.

Girlguiding Sussex East has over 1,000 adult volunteers – maybe you would like to join us.

Come volunteer with Girlguiding Hastings

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. By volunteering with us in locally you can help us create amazing opportunities for girls in Hastings. We look forward to welcoming you.

Ways to get involved

Whether it’s an hour or two every few months or a regular weekly commitment, there are lots of ways to volunteer with us.

Unit Leader and Assistant Leader

Every Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger unit has at least one Leader, who has completed the Girlguiding Leadership Qualification. Leaders have overall responsibility for the unit, although this is often shared between a team. Leaders and Assistant Leaders work with the girls to plan activities and to ensure that finances and records are kept up to date.

Unit Helps and Occasional Helpers

Helpers are brilliant and help the unit to keep running. They  can help out either on a rota system, or just whenever they can giving them the flexibility and freedom to give whatever time they’re able to.
